Mr. Sunil Shantha Weerasekera a commerce graduate of the Kelaniya University is the present Basnayaka Nilame and trustee of Maha Saman Dewalaya.
He was custodian of Uggall Aluth Nuwara, Kataragama Dewalaya before assuming his present duties as custodian of Saman Dewalaya.
In addition to his numerous responsibilities he chairs the Weerasekera Foundation.
Chairman of the ‘Pelmadulla, Raja Maha Viharaya’ temple trust.
Member of the ‘district temple coordinating committee’.
His contributions towards the uplift meant of the Saman Dewalaya - its outlook – it’s up keep and its historical and archeological evidences are greatly appreciated by the people and his attempt to convert the Saman Dewalaya to a hallowed place of worship and value will be greatly remembered. |
